The Copacabana and New Year’s Eve

The Copacabana in New York City was the place to see and be seen in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. If you wanted fun, glamour, good food and great entertainment, the Copa was the place to be. Great entertainers were showcased here and of course, there were the Copa girls.

This is my father’s copy of a Copacabana postcard in March of 1953. He was there for his bachelor party. What a night!

If you were lucky enough to see a show at the Copa, you would certainly dress in your finest. The short evening dress was very popular (thanks to Dior) and also the long sheath gown. No matter what you wore, the jewelry was sumptuous, elegant and alluring. No woman would leave her home without her finest adornments.

Please view my new items on my website. Each piece would be perfect for New Year’s Eve or a special night out. Have a Happy Holiday and a very vintage New Year’s!

I am extending my 20% off sale until December 31st. Browse our collection and have fun!
